Re: [adept_software] Digest Number 217

You may have a Windows XP Firewall issue if you can't communicate with OmniNFS. Check the Adept release at http://www.adept.com/MAIN/KE/DATA/Procedures/NFS_ports_WINXP/NFS_ports_WINXP.htm I also recall that the OmniNFS will sometimes appear to be running when it is not operating correctly. To check ...

Digest Number 148 - Multiple NICs

Multiple NIC's saga... I have not seen "Version X". We solved the issue of 2 NIC's with AdeptWindows with the "3.0 Edit G1" software. The software worked fine until a 3rd NIC was added. We've always kept all the Adept network on the first NIC and if we go back to it, all is well. The Edit G1 softwar...

AdeptWindows and 2 NIC's

Here is an update from the Dual NIC's not being able to connect on the AdeptWindows. If you get a fatal error when starting VGB.EXE when you have dual NIC's, you may want to get an update for AdeptWindows from Adept. They have a version sent to me dated June, 2004. This is not on the 3.0 F6 program ...

Dual NIC's and AdeptWindows

Hello everybody. I have a computer with Dual Network cards that cannot connect to the Adept systems. My theory is the DUAL NIC's are causing the problem. Other computers on the network operate AdeptWindows just fine. All computers are running W2K and the V+ OS is current. I've spoken with Adept Apps...

Re: [adept_software] Digest Number 82

For the best performance you should look up the ALTER command. It's been a while since I've used it, but it allows you to actually ALTER the absolute arm position in realtime (e.g. 16ms) ignoring accels, decels and anything else. With the command you MUST issue an ALTER statement every clock tick, s...

We are having some difficulty with a large amount of IO on the CS controller. I'd like to conduct a poll for those of you who have used a large quantity of IO, please answer the following. (I'll try to summarize and repost.) 1. Controller (MV, CS, CX) 2. DeviceNet: Number of Nodes: Total IO: 3. Dire...

RS485 ?

I have a need to connect 10 (or more) simple devices to an Adept controller. Since it has RS485, I think this would be the simple low cost solution for interfacing. I'm very familiar with RS232 but not 485. Any examples on implementation - I see nothing in the manuals. Also, understand there is a si...

Re: [adept_software] Digest Number 23

The off-line editor was written by some third party and then purchased by Adept. My word unofficial is that they have no plans for it in the long run. Basically, it is very bad and we (RTS) gave up on it about two years ago. I'd suggest the same - just use a good text editor. I prefer Multi-Edit to ...
