Adding a string display to a menu page

Of course!! All information in http://www1.adept.com/main/KE/DATA/AIM/AIM%20Customizer%20Ref/Aimrefg1TOC.html which is the AIM Customizer's Reference Guide overrides anything written here.

This is an example showing how to add an AIM string variable on the sample menu page provided in the standard AIM system. This is helpful when you have to display a variable on a menu page. For example a string variable that contains a part number currently running. This procedure can be followed on a menu page to which a string display is to be added.

Assuming you have AIM running, open the Sample Menu by Special<Sample Menu

This will open the Sample Menu Page

Now using Utilities<Edit Menu the menu page can be edited.

Since a new string variable is being added for display, click on New<String

The AIM sting variable in this example is 'test'. The dialog box for a new string variable can be edited in the following way. The write access here is being set to '7'. This is the highest possible write access in AIM. For more information on user access level AIM Customizer's Reference Guide.

Now the string variable and its label can be moved on a place in the page by clicking and dragging. Now click on File<save and exit to save and exit the menu page editor.

Finally this is what my string display looks like. Hmmm. So I had only "jjuunnkk" in the AIM String variable 'test'.
