calibrate robot mounted camera with Adeptsight 1.0

Postby cdestremps@msn.com » Tue Oct 14, 2014 10:37 am

Good afternoon all,

I am upgrading an older system running Adept Desktop 4.1.2.5 and Adeptsight 1.0 with a single Cobra i600 SCARA robot. I need to mount a camera onto link 2 of this robot and calibrate it presumably with the ADV_CAL.V2 utility however the utility will not load because it is a binary file not a text file. My question is can this configuration be calibrated for a robot mounted camera and if so what is the procedure to do so.

Thank you,

Hello Chris,

ADV_CAL.v2 is an Adept Utility which is used with the old AVI and EVI vision system where the cameras where directly attached to the robot controller.
It can't be used with AdeptSight which uses cameras that are attached to a PC.

I could not find any information about Joint 2 mounted camera calibration in the AdeptSight 1 manuals. I assume it is not supported.
Here is a link to the description of the calibration process in the AdeptSight 2 manuals.

Thank you for your prompt reply. I will look into upgrading to AdeptSight 2.0 for these systems then.
