UPGRADING TO HIGH SPEED CAMERA WITH ADEPT DESKTOP SOFTWARE.

Postby sherif1tce » Fri Dec 05, 2014 3:28 am

Dear Sir,

We are using adept desktop 4.2 software in our production shop with i600 robot and basler firewire camera . As of now , processing speed of camera causes delay and need fire wire card for interface. We like to move to high speed camera ( usb or ethernet ) without changing robot software since our operator personnel are more familiar to this software than adept ace.

Kindly suggest high speed cameras that can work with adept desktop .

Dear Sir,

AdeptSight 2 only supports firewire cameras.
The old FireWire A cameras (BASLER 601f/fc and BASLER 631f/fc series) are no longer available from BASLER but you can still order them from Adept as long as they are on stock.

Adept offers new faster FireWire B cameras to replace the old ones for AdeptSight 2.

If you are planning to replace your camera with FireWire B please let us know.

Regards
Günter

Dear Sir,

at present these 2 cameras upgrade kits are available from Adept. Both kits contain new cables and mounting plate. The part numbers for the kits are 09349-120 for the 659x494, and 09349-121 for the 1392x1040.
scA640-74fm (replacement for A601f)
scA1390-17fm (replacement for A631f)

These steps need to be taken to replace the cameras
- the connection cable between camera and PC Vision needs to be changed. The new camera has a FireWire port b.
- Mount the new camera. CAUTION: the housing of the replacement model is longer; Attach the camera so that the distance between the lens and the feeder surface is the same as with the old camera
- Connect the cable to the camera and to the vision computer
- Close Adept Sight
- perform Driver Update. Drivers can be downloaded from the Basler download page; Driver is the pylon 4 Runtime x86 (1394); 4.0.1.3425d version; WARNING: the camera must be connected for the driver update
- Start Adept Sight 2 and check if the new camera is available; Camera can be identified by its product name; otherwise the installation failed

Best Regards
Günter
