Encoder fault

Postby zoran.kunica@fsb.hr » Sun Dec 14, 2008 5:00 pm

Hello.

We have a problem with a robot AdeptSix300.

After the command „enable power" and pressing high power button the
following message occurs:
*Encoder fault* Mtr 4
*Encoder fault* Mtr 5
*Encoder fault* Mtr 6.

We had discovered that the pair of batteries related to encoders 4 to
6 was discharged, so we replaced all the batteries (both pairs).

Then we:
- visually checked cables and wires and found nothing suspicious,
- visually checked MAI-2 within power chassis and found nothing
suspicious,
- run config_c and spec and tried to recover encoder data
unsuccessfully,
- used brake box and discovered that there was no signal from
encoders 4 to 6 (no response while moving appropriate axis by hand).

Is there something we have omitted and can try on ourselves, before
sending inquiry to Adept`s service?

Thank you in advance.

Hello,

=20
