RETRY monitor command

Postby kmashuga@msn.com » Thu Feb 26, 2009 5:00 pm

Hello!
I have an application where I customized the MCP buttons to start
and stop the program, recover from an error, etc. I would like to
add the RETRY monitor command, but can't get it to work. I entered
MC before the RETRY command but I get an error stating monitor
commands and program instructions can't be mixed. Can anyone give me
a tip on how to do this? This is an example of the MCP program I'm
using:

;begin continuous loop
WHILE 1==1 DO
IF STRDIF($mcp.msg,"")<>0 THEN
$mcp.msg = "Running..."
END
IF STRDIF($mcp.msg,$sent.msg)<>0 THEN
WRITE (mcp_lun) $CHR(12)
WRITE (mcp_lun) $mcp.msg
WRITE (mcp_lun) "STRT/STOP RETRY ORIGIN RECOVER RST/REJ", /S
$sent.msg=$mcp.msg
END
;monitor softkeys
IF PENDANT(5) THEN ;if START/STOP button is pressed
IF my_run==0 THEN
my_run=1
IF my_run==1 THEN
my_run=0
END
END
If PENDANT(4) THEN ;if RETRY button is pressed
MC RETRY

etc.....

It's helpful to be able to use the RETRY command when the program is
interrupted, a door is opened, etc. That way the robot will start up
where it stopped. We have Fanuc robots that allow the operator to
restart and that's what I'm trying to accomplish here. So far I've
only been able to use RETRY with my laptop from the command prompt.
Is it possible to accomplish what I'm trying to do?

Thanks!
Kevin
