AWCII network interface

I know of the LED's that go green to indicate network activity. When I connect our AWCII card to a network switch, I see NO LIGHTS on the switch, as if the other end of the cable is no connected.
I have verified my cables and the light/ports on my switch.

We have no display on this controller, and the only interface is the pendant if connected, and the network connection to the PLC.

Our indications, PLC time-out talking to robot control. I can ping PLC, vision systems, but no return from AWCII.

Should our network port indicate physical connection on the switch? Do I have a dead network port?

Hi,

are you saying that the system was running for a long time and now it fails?

If yes I would try
- a different cables (patch and cross over)
- a different switch/port
- to connect the AWC II directly to a computer (you might have to configure the NIC to use 10 Mbps half duplex)

If you still don't see any traffic on the LEDs of the switch/computer port than the network port on the AWC is dead.

Btw the LEDs must not be Green. Orange is fine too, it typically shows a different speed.

Best Regards
