MI-6/3 vs. MI-6e/3e

Please, what is the difference with the plain vanilla MI boards versus the "e" versions? 2nd, if there is an "e" board in a VME controller does the other motion board have to be an "e" as well?
I know 'e' stands for enhanced but... Thanks for any reply.

This goes way back but, If I remember correctly it was to provide better filtering of the DAC signals. The e boards are backwards compatible since it was a direct replacement for the non-e units.

Thanks, That is what I remember as well, but every once these boards have an "e" that means a funtionality you'll only miss when it does not work :-)
