If you need to communicate via EtherNetIP IO, this product option may be what you need. Please see the attached Applications Note for a description of the requirements and operation.

If you purchase the option, you get all of the files and the license to enable the functionality.

Is it necessary to get the eplc option if I only want to use IO (not full PLC control) over ethernet/IP? I have the third party board support and was under the impression this would let me communicate over the Ethernet/IP, but I certainly don't have such a file.

If you purchase the ePLC_IO option then you will receive the following files.

  • Adept_ePLC_IO_Example.ACD - RSLogix 5000 Project File
  • ePLC_IO.V2 - Adept application code required for ePLC_IO to function
  • ethernet_io.v2 - Adept V+ Example code illustrating how to use ePLC IO.

The ePLC_IO option requires the Third party board license (P/N 09961-00018) and the V+ module, ePLC_IO.v2, to establish communications.
