AdeptVision AVI/sAVI Supported Cameras

The table below lists the cameras that are currently supported on AdeptVision AVI/sAVI systems. Custom Camera Models (CCMs), for supported cameras, can be obtained by locating the desired camera and then clicking the corresponding link in the Custom Camera Models column of the table. CCMs can also be obtained from the Adept Download Center.

Supported Mode Reference

Mode	Description
NI:	Normal Interlaced mode. V.STROBE is NOT enabled. Shutter may be used.
NNI:	Normal Non-Interlaced mode. V.STROBE is NOT enabled. Shutter may be used.
SShSt:	Sync Shutter/Strobe mode. V.STROBE is enabled and V.SYNC.STROBE=1. Shutter may be used.
ARShSt:	ASync Reset Shutter/Strobe mode. V.STROBE is enabled and V.SYNC.STROBE=2. Shutter may be used.
FO:	Field Only mode. Only for interlaced cameras. Shutter may be used.
NIHF:	Non-Interlaced Half-Frame mode. Only for interlaced cameras. Shutter may be used.

Replacement for Panasonic MF602 Camera

Panasonic MF602 has been the Adept standard camera for VGA (EIA) resolution and is supported by the default embedded camera model number 0 in all AdeptVision versions. Because Panasonic has discontinued this model, Adept recommends the Teli CS8620i (EIA) CCD camera (manufactured by Toshiba Teli Corporation, Japan) as a replacement camera.

The Teli CS8620i camera has the same performance specifications and functional features as Panasonic MF602 camera, and is fully compatible with the default embedded camera model number 0 in AdeptVision. However, when using the Teli CS8620i camera in "Async Reset Shutter/Strobe" mode (ARShSt in the table above), the following needs to be done:

A Hirose-to-Hirose interface cable (Teli Part Number 12P-6I) needs to be used (i.e., this short 6 inch cable will connect to the camera connector at one end and to Adept camera cable connector at the other end). This interface cable should be purchased along with the camera. Note that this interface cable has to be used only for ARShSt mode of operation; for all other modes of operation, this cable should not be used (i.e., the camera is to be connected directly to Adept camera cable connector).
Set the "Trigger" DIP-switch at the back of the camera to the Right position (the default position is to the Left). This sets the camera in the negative-edge trigger mode.

Additionally, the Teli CS8620i camera supports a wider choice of shutter speeds than Panasonic MF602.

For the "Sync Shutter/Strobe" mode (SShSt in the table above), all those shutter speeds can be used with the default embedded camera model #0.
For the "Async Reset Shutter/Strobe" mode (ARShSt in the table above), it is possible to use shutter speeds up to 1/2000 of a second (MF602 only supported a fixed ~ 1/2000 shutter speed in this mode) with the default embedded camera model #0. This should be sufficient for most applications. If shutter speeds faster than 1/2000 of second are required for ARShSt mode with Teli CS8620i, custom camera models will need to be generated.
